Update 11th September 2008 (1 Day to go!)
Everything is all set for Friday. There has been a major competition, the Lexus team final, at Rutland over the last 2 days. Day one produced a rod average of around 5 fish per angler! Teams (6 per team) were catching 30-40 fish on day 1. Day 2 was harder probably due to the brighter conditions. Many of the top teams have been catching near or on the surface on dries and nymphs. If you want to have a look at some of the photos please visit Cliff Waters great web site www.fishypics.co.uk.
We have ordered 2000 fish for today, and they will be spread around the lake ready for you all on Friday. The intense match fishing over the last few days may have made the fish a bit more wary for Friday but the introduction of the fresh stockies should stir things up a bit. All you have to do is find them!
Weather is looking a mixed bag, wet and cloudy but with light to moderate winds which will hopefully make the fishing reasonable.
So wet weather gear is essential for a comfortable day!
How much money have we raised? I won't spoil it here but its looking like a good year. Thanks to you all.
The Raffle and Auction look interesting as well so don't forget your cash or you could miss out on a real bargain.
I look forward to seeing you all on Friday and wish you tight lines.
Chris

The Lodge at Rutland is getting a facelift, well a bit more than cosmetic. There will be a extension to the restaurant area and a new tackle shop ready for the event this year which should make things more comfortable at the evening meal.
